Easter egg hunts, bunnies, chicks and chocolate – it must be Easter in Belfast!

Why not keep the whole family entertained over the Easter holiday with a host of special events across the city. With a packed programme of events for children of every age, it’s the perfect time to launch yourself straight into spring.

Julie Cochrane, Visit Belfast Welcome Centre Manager, said:

“There’s plenty of specially-themed Easter events for excited kids and grown-ups. From chocolate fountains and afternoon teas, egg hunts, to fluffy rabbits and lambs, it’s the best time to start enjoying the better weather and longer evenings.

“From culture to art, music to shopping, arts and crafts, food and drink, Belfast really is the place to be so plan ahead now and make the most of the time you have!”

Spring into Easter at Belfast City Hall

Make a visit to the “eggcellent” ‘Spring into Easter’ festival at Belfast City Hall where there are countless opportunities for everyone to enjoy. The four-day programme from April 4^th to April 7^th is jam-packed with free fun-filled activities from 12noon-5pm each day.

Sing-Along-Frozen at the Grand Opera House

Is there a budding Anna, Elsa or Sven in your house? Come dressed as your favourite Frozen character for a fancy dress competition as you ‘Let it go’ to the movies’ infectious songs on March 31^st at 11am and 3pm.

Easter Creative Arts & Crafts at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum

Why not enrol in a family workshop this year and work together using salt dough, quilling and crochet to create handcrafted Easter bunnies, chicks or basket ornaments for your home.

Events take place on March 21^st and March 22^nd.

Easter Extravaganza at Belfast Zoo

Enjoy a walk-around with Brian the Lion and Spook the Bear as they guide you around the zoo looking for treasure, prizes and those all-elusive Easter eggs before visiting your favourite animals at feeding time. From 10am to 4pm daily until March 31^st and 10am to 7pm daily from April 1^st.

Easter Egg Hunt at the Mac

Pop into the Mac for its annual free Easter Egg Hunt around the building. Start your journey in our Family Room and work your way around – the faster you are the more eggs you’ll collect. From 10am until 7pm on April 4^th.

Easter Eggspress

Don’t miss out on the Easter Week fun – hop aboard the Easter Eggspress on Easter Monday and Tuesday one of its two trains each day on April 6^th and April 7^th for a steam train adventure to Whitehead. Fun for all the family, plus Easter eggs for the children.

Grease is the word!

Do something different with the family by visiting Belfast Waterfront to enjoy an exciting amateur production of the hit musical Grease. Performed by Youth in the Arts, you will be dancing in the aisles to some of the most recognisable and catchiest songs in in musical theatre history. From April 1^st to April 4^th.

Easter egg making at James Street South

Make a chocolate egg from scratch before filling it with sweets and then allow the kids to tap into their creative sides by decorating the eggs with a signature look, before taking it home and throwing it against the kitchen counter tops! On April 4^th from 10am.

Baby Animal Festival at Streamvale Open Farm

Spring really does come alive at Northern Ireland’s only working dairy farm which is open to the public every day over Eater. With a fresh influx of lambs and chicks, there are daily bottle feeding sessions as well as ‘cuddle time’ with rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks.

Ulster vs Cardiff Blues

For the Enjoy the thrill of a live rugby match at Belfast’s Kingspan Stadium as the Ulster boys take on the might of the Cardiff Blues in what is sure to be another highlight of this year’s Pro 12 Campaign. The match takes place on March 27^th at 7:35pm.

Game of Thrones location tour

Step into another world as the all-new ‘Stones & Thrones’ tour visits five different sites that have featured on the show. Daily from Belfast at 9am.

Afternoon tea at Titanic Belfast

Enjoy a sumptuous tea in the stunning Titanic Suite beside the Grand Staircase with live jazz every Sunday.

Dance like a lord at the Odyssey Arena
