Belfast girl, ‘Janey’ will need all the help she can get to track it down. With the assistance of the kind people of Belfast, this crazy character will quiz anyone who looks like they know which way the wind blows and leave no stone unturned in the city centre in her efforts to reclaim that ticket….
For the very first time, Belfast One, – Belfast City Centre’s Business Improvement District – has partnered with Young at Art to launch a new, exciting, interactive children’s walking tour, designed to help families see lesser-known parts of the city in a fun and engaging way.
Julie McCullagh, marketing manager at Belfast One said the tour is the first in a schedule which will be rolled out in the coming years, designed to encourage families to explore the Belfast One area.
Speaking at the launch Julie said: “We are thrilled to be launching the new children’s walking tour today which is designed to be a whole lot of fun and is aimed at attracting families to the city at a time when it is quieter, offering the opportunity to view the fantastic sites at a slower pace.
“The forty-minute tour will start at Howard Street in the heart of the city and the children will get clues and a map to help Janey find her ticket while exploring Belfast City Centre, before finishing at High Street.”
Young at Art is one of Northern Ireland’s leading children’s arts not-for-profit companies. From its Belfast base, Young at Art coordinates international festivals and events, and a wide variety of projects that encourage children and young people under 18 to enjoy the arts.
Speaking about the partnership with Belfast One, Morag Stuart from Young at Art Events said: “This is a fantastic new initiative to provide a unique interactive performance for children and families. It is sure to be an unforgettable theatre experience as we inject lots of fun and imagination into exploring Belfast city centre.
“We believe that children should have exciting and original creative experiences and therefore all of our work is child-inspired, carried out by professional artists.
“We welcome families and children of all ages to come along and get involved in the new tour.”
Belfast One’s has developed a five-year marketing strategy is to drive domestic footfall into the City Centre by promoting the fantastic retail, leisure, culture and entertainment offering and showcasing what a brilliantly unique city Belfast is.
