Cool models from Style Academy Model Agency in Belfast chilled out for Cancer Focus Northern Ireland when they were doused in freezing water for their bracing Ice Bucket Challenge.
Donations are still coming in and if you’d like to join in and support Cancer Focus NI please Text £1-10, eg ICED96 £5, to 70070 or visit www.justgiving.com/Style-Academy.
Suzie Colledge, Community Fundraising Officer for Cancer Focus NI, said: “I want to thank the brave models at Style Academy Model Agency for all their support and for taking part in this fun event for such a worthy cause. All contributions really do add up and we very much appreciate every donation. Without your generous support we wouldn’t be able to continue our vital work supporting cancer patients and their families and carers across Northern Ireland.”
Tracey Rodgers, director of the Style Academy Model Agency, said: “Style Academy was honoured to be involved in the Ice Bucket Challenge for Cancer Focus NI. Unfortunately cancer is something that has touched the families of both our agency director and our manager, not to mention those of many of our models. Because of this, we wanted to show our support and do a little bit for such a worthy local charity.”
The charity is also calling on everyone to start planning for their Girls’ Night In campaign in October to raise cash for ground-breaking breast cancer research at Queen’s University Belfast. To find out more email email@example.com.
Cancer Focus NI offers a wide range of services including counselling, support groups, a family service, bra and swimwear fitting for mastectomy patients, art therapy, Beauty for Life and stop smoking sessions.
The charity also carries out cancer prevention projects in schools, sports clubs, leisure centres and other community venues to help improve the health of the community and lower their risk of cancer.
Cancer Focus NI is currently funding major research into breast cancer at Queen’s University Belfast, and has launched a campaign for equal access to cancer drugs for patients in Northern Ireland. If you would like to support this campaign please visit www.equalaccessni.org.
