The little helpers at Santa Line have completed an eye-opening ferry versus flight price comparison that everyone needs to see as it could save you hundreds of pounds. Researching the best-value travel option at Christmas can be time consuming and often the last item on a long list of things-to-do before Santa arrives.
Orla Noonan, Head of Travel, Irish Sea, Santa Line, said: “Taking the ferry is much more affordable and offers better value for money than flying at Christmas and this price comparison proves that. Our fares, which start from as little as £79* single for car and driver, are part of that reason but our no baggage charges really help people to make savings.”
The price comparison was based on the following itinerary – two adults and two children, departing on December, 19 and returning on December, 28, with 4 pieces of hold baggage.
Flying from Belfast to Glasgow costs £545.96^ with a well-known airline compared to £264.00^ when travelling with Santa Line with a saving of £281.96. Flying from Belfast to Liverpool costs £521.92^ with a major airline compared to £404.00^ when travelling with Santa Line by car – a massive saving of £117.92.
The extra bonus of travelling with your car during the festive season is not having a limit on how much luggage, or how many Christmas presents, you bring with you.
“As you can see we are sailing ahead in value-for-money terms plus travelling by ferry is a far more relaxing experience”, continued Orla. “There is lots of space and open areas to explore, a cinema, great shopping and dedicated children’s areas to keep little elves happy. Let’s be honest, airports can be a real nightmare at Christmas – who wouldn’t want to avoid the never-ending queues, followed by a journey in a confining seat which can be stressful, especially when travelling with kids.”
Santa Line even has its very own child-friendly festive App, explained Orla: “Our customers can win prizes as they sail to their destination with our first ever App, ‘Santa Line Treasure Hunt’ which the kids will love. Plus, our onboard shop offers huge savings for any last-minute gifts of up to 50%* off across many quality lines when compared to the high street on cosmetics, perfumes and aftershaves.”
Orla concluded: “Our sailings are filling up fast but there is still time to book so Ho Ho Go to our website as soon as possible to get the times and dates you prefer.”
