The event organisers of the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon are delighted to introduce Better as their Official Gym Partner for 2019.

What “better” way to kickstart your health and fitness goals than to sign up with your local Better leisure facility or gym and start getting Marathon, Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk or Fun Run ready for the 38th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 5th May 2019.

The Better brand stems from GLL, a charitable social enterprise who are working with Belfast City Council to help transform leisure facilities across Belfast.   There are fourteen Better leisure centres and gyms across Belfast – North, East, South and West of the City.  All of which focus on reinvestment into local communities, providing a range of programmes which are open to all regardless of social and financial mobility.

A wide range of services are available to support all levels of fitness to help you train for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, which include support for young athletes; and increasing junior and senior participation.  Better provides fully equipped gym facilities, core and strength classes including PRAMA, Yoga and Swim, not to mention delivery of health referral programmes for those living with acute medical conditions to help them improve their quality of life by keeping active.  Full details can be found at www.better.org.uk/belfast.

Commenting on Better’s new partnership with the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, Sarah Owens (Regional Marketing Manager, GLL and Better) said:

“We are delighted to partner with the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon in 2019 and help support and provide training options for those taking part in either the Marathon & Wheelchair race, Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk or Fun Run on Sunday 5th May. Our mission is to get more people, more active, more often and with a new marathon route in place for 2019 which encompasses all four corners of the city, we welcome new members to start training in our fourteen leisure centres and gyms across Belfast.  We wish all participants the best of luck for race day!”
