Peter Mark, one of Northern Ireland’s best known and longest established hairdressing groups has partnered with the Royal Victoria Hospital’s Helping Hand charity (Belfast) to raise vital funds to buy beds for family members staying overnight with loved ones at the children’s hospital.
The cutting edge hairdressing brand is encouraging consumers to call into one of their seven salons across Northern Ireland from 24th-27th October and take part in their ‘Petermarkathon’ fundraising activities such as face painting, fancy dress, vintage tea parties and cake sales. Peter Mark salons are located in Belfast, Abbeycentre, Forestside, Lisburn, Portadown, Ballymena and Newry.
Commenting on the fundraising initiative, Peter O’Rourke, Chief Executive of Peter Mark, said: “We are delighted to be fundraising for Helping Hand, the charity for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. At Peter Mark, it is important to us as a leading business that we make a real difference in the local community. The Petermarathon is a proactive way for salons to play their part by raising awareness and funds for Helping Hand, which will make a real difference to families who are facing difficult and challenging times.
“We hope that consumers will call along to our salons to enjoy the fun activities that we have planned across our four days of fundraising while making a contribution towards a great cause!”
Helping Hand fundraiser, Nigel Kearney, expressed his delight at having Peter Mark on board: “We would like to thank Peter Mark for supporting our charity. We rely entirely on the generous monetary support of the business community and general public to help us to provide equipment and services which benefit sick children all over the province. The money raised from the Peter Mark fundraising days will significantly help us to purchase beds so that relatives can stay overnight with their loved ones.
“I would like to say a huge thank you in advance to all the staff in the salons who will be taking part in the four day event and encourage consumers to pop in and support this very worthwhile cause by helping us to help those in need.”
