Northern Ireland Comedian to Feature in Europe’s
Biggest Comedy Festival
Northern Ireland laughter lovers are set to be impressed by Glasgow International Comedy Festival’s line-up this month, with our very own celebrated circuit and TV comedian, Colin Murphy set to feature in Europe’s biggest comedy festival, taking place in March and April.
Comedy fans attending the Glasgow International Comedy Festival will be able able to see Colin Murphy live on Friday 04 April at The Stand Comedy Club as part of a packed programme of 416 shows at 46 venues across the city. The renowned annual event in Glasgow’s cultural calendar runs from 14 March- 05 April and promises something for every taste and budget during Homecoming Scotland 2014. The incredible comic line-up boasts talent from around the globe, including Sarah Millican, Miranda Hart and Ruby Wax.
Colin commented, “I’m delighted to be appearing at Europe’s biggest comedy festival in Glasgow especially during Homecoming Scotland 2014. Scotland has a rich comedy heritage and given our shared sense of humour and strong cultural connections, I’d say it’s a fantastic time to visit the festival. Many of the comedy greats hail from Scotland and I’m looking forward to performing with one or two of them.”
Festival attendees will be spoilt for choice with Scottish talent with the Festival featuring Des Clarke, Raymond Mearns, Susan Calman, Craig Hill, Hardeep Singh as well Rich Hall, Josh Widdicombe, Seann Walsh, Russell Kane at the Garagem, Shappi Khorsandi and Sean Hughes, with his critically acclaimed show “Penguins” to Oran Mor.
Colin continued, “My own gig is on at one of the best venues in the festival, The Stand Comedy Club on Friday 04 April. I’m really looking forward to it and to catching more of the festival….with 416 shows across 46 venues in Glasgow, you’re guaranteed a great time!”
The Glasgow International Comedy Festival is only a short flight away with Northern Ireland air routes covering various cities including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Prestwick, Inverness and Aberdeen from local airports – George Best Belfast City Airport, Belfast International Airport and City of Derry Airport.
