Kingsmill encourages local people to vote their favourite NI Lunch Spot into the Top Ten!

Kingsmill, the fresh thinking local bread brand has announced that Belfast City Hall and Castle Archdale Country Park have been shortlisted as two of the top 25 places to eat lunch outdoors in the UK – beating off competition from 10,000 entries.

In partnership with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Kingsmill is searching for the UK’s top ten Lunch Spots and is calling on the support of the Northern Ireland public to vote these locations into the top ten before the deadline of 29th April!

Ulster Life fans are now encouraged to visit www.facebook.com/Kingsmill to register their vote.

A panel of judges made up of representatives from tourist boards across the UK and Kingsmill decided the top 25 shortlist based on a number of factors including accessibility and free entry to all.

Victoria Brown, Allied Bakeries explained: “As summer approaches, we all love to eat lunch outside. We’ve got some beautiful locations in Northern Ireland so we are delighted that two of our outdoor Lunch Spots have beaten off stiff competition to make it into the top 25 UK shortlist.

“We want to encourage the public to really get behind the campaign locally and vote to make sure that we get Belfast City Hall and Castle Archdale Country Park into the UK’s top ten locations.

“Our shortlisted local Lunch Spots will also be awarded a plaque and bench to celebrate their status as one of the UK’s best Lunch Spots!”

Ruth Burns, NITB’s Destination Marketing and PR manager continued: “Northern Ireland has so many picturesque areas to visit and set up your own Lunch Spots. We’re really pleased that two of these locations have been voted into the top 25 and are well deserved contenders to make it into the top ten UK places to eat lunch outdoors – so get voting!”

The Kingsmill Lunch Spots campaign is in support of The Big Lunch 2013, an initiative to get as many people as possible across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours, for a few hours of community, friendship and fun.
