Leading international interiors brand Neptune today (Thursday Sept 7) officially opened their first Irish flagship store in one of Belfast’s most iconic locations.
Neptune Belfast is based in the former Ormeau Bakery building, and the new store showcases the full Neptune collection from kitchen, dining and living, bedroom and bathroom, to outdoor furniture, accessories and lighting in a recreated home setting.
With outlets across Ireland, the UK and Europe, interiors brand Neptune is renowned for its design-led aesthetic and expert craftsmanship.
“Belfast is definitely a city on the economic rise with many high-end international retailers choosing to locate here and we are very pleased to be among them with the opening of Neptune Belfast,” said Joe Norney Retail Partnership Manager for Neptune in Ireland.
The £750,000 project has involved the renovation of one of Belfast historic buildings, the Ormeau Bakery, which dates back to 1875.
“We have been very lucky to find this amazing location, customers will love it as the whole place is designed to feel timeless and like a home from home,” said Joe.
The new 5,000 sq ft Neptune flagship store has brought with it up to 20 local direct and indirect jobs.
The ground floor of the Ormeau Bakery has been transformed into a series of room settings while the building’s 19th century facade, landmark clock and many of its original features have been preserved.
The store managers at Neptune Belfast are husband and wife team Catherine and Fergal McAdam who have been associated with Neptune for many years as directors of Neptune by Malone and Smyth in County Fermanagh.
The brand’s popularity among discerning customers encouraged them to expand further and create a Neptune flagship store in Belfast.
“The volume of people travelling from Belfast and surrounding areas to our Fermanagh outlet convinced us of the need to open a fully-dedicated Neptune store in the city,” said Fergal.
“At Neptune we believe that good design makes people happier and our stores are a reflection of this.
“As soon as a customer enters the door of Neptune Belfast we aim to make them feel instantly at home and at ease.
“Neptune furniture, accessories and lighting are shown in room settings to give people a context so they can easily see how they would translate into their homes.”
The new flagship store boasts a team of kitchen designers, interior designers, textile experts and home specialist who are available to provide expert design advice and assistance to customers.
To celebrate its official opening Neptune Belfast is hosting an open-house ‘housewarming’ event this weekend where the public is invited to come along and explore the new store
