Kerri Farrell, 36 from Warrenpoint, who is expecting her first child in September, entered the competition through The Merchant Hotel’s website as part of its ‘Decade of Decadence’ 10th anniversary celebrations and was drawn at random from thousands of entries.
The incredible package worth £10,000 offers 10 years of luxurious experiences, with an indulgent and relaxing weekend at The Merchant Hotel every year until 2025.
The prize consists of 10 separate overnight stays, each valued in excess of £1,000. The weekend of luxury includes (all based on 2 people sharing):

- A bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne in room on arrival.
- The Great Room Restaurant tasting menu with matched wines on night of arrival.

Kerri has been busy planning when to use the first of her 10 luxury experiences. Commenting on the news, she said:
“When I got the call to say I had won the competition, I thought it was a joke – I just couldn’t believe my luck. As we prepare for the arrival of our first child later this year, it’s great to think that we will have the opportunity for a luxurious break away once a year for the next 10 years. It’s a dream come true.
“I hope to be able to share this wonderful prize with my husband, family and friends. I have always loved The Merchant and it’s particularly magical around Christmas, I may try to take the first stay in December with a friend, so we can soak up the festive atmosphere and indulge in a little pampering. It’s my husband Rory’s 40th Birthday is in January, so perhaps we’ll take the second stay together then to mark the occasion – I’m sure a little bit of R ‘n’ R will be most well received with a newborn at home.”
