Marks & Spencer have teamed up with the legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz to showcase their inspirational ladies of Britain collection this autumn.

The high-street brand has chosen twelve inspirational and very different women to be ambassadors of their autumn campaign. These various women represent the best of British with careers spanning from music, acting or being founders of charity organisations. M&S sure have picked the best of the best to front their brand this autumn.

The campaign is titled: ‘Meet Britain’s Leading Ladies,’ an apt description of the fierce, determined females that are involved with the brand. Each of the 12 women have something different to bring to the face of the brand, hence why they have been chosen. Pictured together for M&S it is evident to see why they are the ultimate embodiment of inspirational Britain.  M&S boasts of each ladies success, stating; “these women all possess, intelligence, the confidence to succeed and innate personal style.”  If the ladies’ biographies are anything to go by, M&S have picked the crème de la crème for their autumn campaign.

First up is award-winning actress, Dame Helen Mirren. She is a renowned actress who is well-known for playing Elizabeth II in The Queen, in 2006. Mirren was also listed as one of the Guardian’s fifty best dressed over 50’s in March 2013, something that evidently made her an attractive prospect as a style siren and leading lady for M&S.

Model and television presenter, Katie Piper is another face chosen as part of ‘Meet Britain’s Leading Ladies,’ campaign. She should be commended for her work as founder of ‘The Katie Piper Foundation,’ which aims to raise awareness of victims of burns and other disfigurement injuries. Piper is definitely an inspirational lady of our time.

The stunning Ellie Goulding, singer song-writer is also on the list of Britain’s leading ladies. With two successful albums behind her, and a BRIT award, the hugely talented woman is a perfect face of the M&S brand.

Marks and Spencer’s all-star cast also boasts Helen Allen, a staff nurse who is founder of the charity, PEPAIDS (Peer Education Programme Against AIDS).  The wonder woman was also named Nurse of the Year in 2011.  Nicola Adams, first female boxer to win an Olympic gold medal at London’s games, has also been selected to face M&S. She oozes determination and depicts everything the brand wanted to convey.

Other notable ambassadors of the autumnal campaign include:  the former US Vogue’s Creative Director, Grace Coddington. She is known as a formidable and outspoken influence in the fashion realm.  The CEO of Save the Children International, Jasmine Whitbread is also heralded as a leading lady for the M&S brand.  The autumn campaign also includes: Monica Ali famed writer of Brick Lane, Darcey Bussell, former Royal Ballet principal ballerina, singer-songwriter Laura Mvula, model and musician Karen Elson and award-winning artist, Tracey Emin. Each woman brings something different to the brand.

The Leading Ladies collection is available to buy online from 3 September 2013, and you can check out: www.marksandspencer.com to see a preview of the stunning, inspirational ladies who are fronting the autumn campaign.
