When the skin is dehydrated it is dull, lacking moisture, can have dry patches and fine lines are more visible. Increasing your water intake will help the skin in general. The skin is the largest organ in our body though it is the last to receive any water. That is why it is very important to treat the top layers of the skin with a correct daily skincare regime.
Dry skins are lacking oil, have dry flaky areas and lines are more visible. Gentle cleansing, changing your moisturiser, adding a night time serum into your routine and making sure you are exfoliating twice a week will help the effects of the winter on our skin. For sensitive skins or skins that have become sensitised it is vital to protect the skins barrier function. This will prevent damage and protect the already stimulated capillaries.
Using a physical SPF rather than a chemical SPF will help this but also by avoiding harsh products and investing in a good moisturiser. In the salon on a professional level we use electrical facial treatments and look at the current products you are using to see if there are any changes are needed.
The Guinot Hydradermie2 facial is an excellent choice and is one of our most popular treatments. It is a full facial treatment using galvanic and high frequency currents. This facial also includes a pressure point lymph drainage massage and a treatment mask. It rehydrates and penetrates deeper into our skin layers than manual application can to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Preventing premature aging of the skin means less deep lines in the future. A regular facial treatment every 4-8 weeks is recommended or start off with a course of four, one a week for four weeks.
