Lidl Northern Ireland is delighted to announce that it will return to Belfast to host the Lidl Christmas Village for the second year running. The village will take place in the Cathedral Gardens (also known as Buoy Park) of St Anne’s Cathedral and will run for four days from Thursday, 10th December until Sunday, 13th December with free admission.

Visitors can look forward to traditional stalls offering the best of Lidl’s mouth-watering seasonal food and drink and lots of fun activities to keep the kids entertained. From Santa’s Cinema showing festive movies like Frozen, to Santa’s Photo booth, Santa’s Grotto and a traditional carousel and swing boats, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy at the Lidl Christmas Village this December.

Customers and friends are invited to come along and soak up some festive joy at the magical winter wonderland. Sample or buy an array of goodies from the Deluxe, Favorina and seasonal ranges, like festive cakes, gingerbread biscuits, chocolate nibbles and mince pies. Visit the traditional German Bratwurst hut and enjoy an authentic hotdog or delicious Irish hamburger and some warm Gluehwein, or treat the family to a delectable crêpe.

Visitors can also look forward to some festive fun on the traditional Christmas carousel and swing boats. And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa himself. Whilst visits to Santa should be booked online*, those important letters can be sent to Santa via “The North Pole Post” at the magical letter drop at the village, which little ones are sure to love. A ride on the carousel/swing boats will cost £1 per person, while a visit to Santa, including a present, costs £7 per child, with all profits of each going directly to Lidl Northern Ireland’s charity partner, CLIC Sargent.

Aoife Whelan, Brand Manager, Lidl Northern Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be returning to Belfast to host the Lidl Christmas Village for the second year running. Christmas is a really special time of year, so we’re excited to be able to help spread some good old-fashioned festive cheer. From delicious seasonal goodies and mulled wine to Santa’s grotto and a traditional carousel and swing boat ride, our aim is  to offer a truly magical experience for both adults and children alike. We very much look forward to welcoming visitors to our Christmas village to share a lidl bit of magic with us this Christmas.”
