Katy Perry, The New Face of Covergirl Cosmetics

COVERGIRL, cosmetics brand has announced that pop singer and all round ‘it’ girl Katy Perry is the new face of their brand.

The partnership comes at a time when Katy’s career portfolio is on the up and up, with her third album, Prism, being released on October 22.  Her collaboration with COVERGIRL is not her first venture into the beauty world as she has her own three fragrances: Purr, Meow and Killer Queen.  Katy Perry couldn’t withhold her excitement as she tweeted: “BEAUTIFUL news to share w/you all. Today is my 1st day as a @COVERGIRL! See what happens when you let the light in? #COVERGIRLKATY.”

Katy Perry joins a host of other celebrities who have endorsed the COVERGIRL brand. P!nk, Sofia Vergara and Ellen DeGeneres are just a few of the brands famous faces that have been and continue to represent the brand.  Katy Perry epitomizes natural beauty as the face of the COVERGIRL brand. She will be promoting ‘bold new beauty looks,’ for the 2014 campaign. The Teenage Dream singer is known for her ‘out there’ fashion statements, something that makes Katy the perfect choice for the brand that wants to go bolder.

Katy Perry commented on her collaboration with COVERGIRL stating that: “In addition to music, I’ve always considered make-up to be a powerful creative avenue of self-expression. I’m honoured to partner with COVERGIRL and share more colours and textures of my approach to beauty to inspire my audience.” The Queen of Pop’s new venture is sure to be a hit with fans who will no doubt be rushing out to buy their idol’s products.

COVERGIRL was first launched in 1961 with its first product line, Clean Makeup. It was nominated America’s best cosmetic brand.  Its longest running model was Christie Brinkley who modelled for the brand for over 20 years.
