Arguably the most popular supermodel to date, with a career spanning decades, renowned for her eclectic, effortless style, and her recently reformed party-going ways – Kate Moss is back.
With her latest hotly anticipated capsule collection hitting Topshop April 30, just in time for summer, you can now emulate the beauty queen’s amazing style, with many of her pieces purposefully designed to emulate a piece of Moss’s ‘wardrobe past.’
The supermodel-turned-designer is back with a new collection, and instead of simply taking inspiration from her enviable closet of high-priced designer gowns and timeless vintage pieces, Kate has decided this time around to create a collection which virtually recreates some of her most popular looks of all-time.
The beauty-icon first teamed up with Topshop in 2007 with a line that flew off the shelves within days. Reinventing celebrity endorsed collections, Moss’s collaboration made history, outselling any collaboration the retailer has done-to-date, with Topshop’s rumored sales to have grossed more than £40 million. Since then Kate has helped design 13 subsequent collections with the high-street giant, before taking a break from designing in 2010.
However, this latest hotly anticipated capsule collection could arguably prove to be the most successful yet, with 61 pieces in total, encompassing four design themes echoing different aspects of the model’s infamous style.
Kate told reporters: “I wanted to add more of the things I love. I want the collection to become timeless with pieces that people will wear again and again.”
From the boho-inspired: ‘Balearic Dressing,’ you can chose from an array of flowing smock tops and colourful kaftans, reminiscent of carefree and possibly the most famous look- ‘festival Kate.’
Meanwhile high-voltage ‘Tailoring Noir’ offers an exciting assortment of sequined menswear-inspired items, whilst ‘Pyjama Dressing’, with its’ array of silky-separates, features an on-trend nod to Kate’s most recent, more sensible, refined party looks. With its’ fantastic options for keeping warm in the chilly summer evenings, this look is sure to secure itself as a must-have for all serious fashionistas this season.
Meanwhile, guaranteed to be an instant sell-out is ‘Cocktail Hour.’ This exciting range of dresses are all reminiscent of Kate’s infamous disheveled, low-key glamorous night-time looks. Already the critics’s most hotly-anticipated item is the striking replica of the vintage yellow frock she wore to a magazine party in 200, known amongst fashionistas as one of Kate’s best beauty moments.
Whilst the offerings are perhaps more luxurious than her previous collections, when one considers their costly inspirations, you can get a piece of the style-queen’s most coveted wardrobe for a fraction of the designer cost.
Kate’s iconic new collection is available from Topshop from Wednesday, and in anticipation of high demand will also be available for the first time from luxury e-tailer net-a-porter.com, Nordstrom stores and nordstrom.com.
