Magherafelt District Council and local businesses in Magherafelt have worked together over the past few months to develop a unique brand for the town centre, based around a popular local saying “Magherafelt – never felt better”. This brand will form the cornerstone of an integrated Marketing Strategy to promote the independent retail offer, the leisure facilities and the night time economy in the town centre, over the next two years.

Online marketing is an important feature of the project and free Wi-Fi has been installed across the town centre.  Magherafelt is also leading the way with the development of Northern Ireland’s first town centre smart phone app with live information on local business promotions and services.  The never better app is available on apple and android and can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.neverbetteronline.com/

Businesses can sign up for free to use the app by following the link: http://www.magherafelt.gov.uk/pages/index.php?id=450

Saturday 7 December 2013 is “Small Business Saturday”. This is a UK wide initiative providing small businesses with the opportunity to promote themselves and generate trade.

Small Business Saturday is a grassroots campaign. Small businesses of all kinds will be taking part. They’re planning special deals for customers, showcase events, joint marketing with local media and much more. Small Business Saturday works when small businesses take action.

As part of “Small Business Saturday” Magherafelt will be hosting a “Never felt Better day” where businesses will be putting special deals and promotions on the app for this day. The “Never felt Better day” will be a way of promoting the new app and encouraging people to download it but will also allow businesses to reach new customers.
