Stars shine to perfection at Glamour’s high-powered ‘Women of the Year Awards 2013.’

Jessie J, Rita Ora and fashion power-house Victoria Beckham were just a few of the female stars being celebrated last night (4th June) at the high-profile event at Berkeley Square Gardens in London. But the question on everyone’s lips is: “who wore it best?”

The star-studded event featured an array of the most beautiful and talented stars from the UK, making for stiff competition amongst some of the most influential fashionistas and trend-setters clamoring for the title of best-dressed on the night.

One of the undoubted highlights was undoubtedly ‘R.I.P’ songstress Rita Ora who stunned in an elegant, gothic-inspired, floor-length, silver Marchesa gown as she collected her well-deserved ‘Solo Artist of the Year’ award. Rita was dressed to perfection, letting her stunning couture do all the talking as she left accessories to a bare minimum, with her hair in this season’s low-maintenance, dishevelled back-combed up-do. A smokey eye amid an otherwise neutral make-up palette complete with a subtly rose-tinted nude lip was all that was needed to finish this gorgeous, sophisticated look.

Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue looked pretty and under-stated in a ruffled peach Moschino shift dress complete with a high, gathered neckline. Kylie’s look seemed to take style-inspiration from this year’s catwalk trends, with a subtle nod to vintage glamour. Reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s Spring / Summer 2013 show which debuted this seasons’ penchant for dramatic sixties beehives, Kylie’s hair was given a slightly off-centre parting and was subtly given some gorgeous volume to the roots. To set off the sweet Sixties feel, Kylie’s gorgeous shimmering locks were styled to perfection from roots to tips, and certainly did not fail to forget that all-important, quintessential hair-flick, so reminiscent of the era, with the ends of her hair flicking out nicely onto her demure shoulders.

To complete her girly, retro look, Kylie accessorised with chunky, vintage Mod bangles on each wrist and gold scrappy sandals complete with the typical heart-warming Kylie Minogue mega-watt smile.

Hot pink proved popular on the night with both Myleene Klass, who worked the neon trend in an electric fuchsia floor-length, figure-hugging gown, and Les Miserables actress Samantha Barks, who stood out on the night in a pink halter-neck, above-the-knee Roland Mouret dress. The gorgeous brunettes let their colour-pop gowns take centre-stage with neutral, metallic gold accessories and wavy locks. Whilst slender beauty Samantha opted for a less dramatic hair look, pulling her glossy waves back and allowing just a segment of her wavy locks free for a beautiful face-framing effect, Myleene left her trademark tumbling tresses free to cascade round her tanned shoulders for a similarly high-impact, high-voltage screen siren look.

Fellow stars who impressed on the night of course included the girl whose name is on everyone’s lips Cara Delevingne, who didn’t fail to disappoint in a controversial white graphic-print tee tucked into black tailored trousers complete with a dramatic black and gold studded clutch. Cara completed her grunge look with eccentric yellow-painted nails, deep red lips to match her pumps and lashings of attitude. Cara, whose laid-back look effortlessly propels her onto the world’s best dressed lists, was on hand to present the award of ‘Solo Artist of the Year’ to best friend and fellow undoubted best-dressed chart-topper Rita.

Stars making further fashion headlines included Fearne Cotton, who showcased her enviable post-bay figure in a demure, sky blue mini-dress, and Ireland’s very own Laura Whitmore. The Irish beauty showed off her slender frame in a printed, high-neck, busy shift, and accessorised to perfection with a retro eclectic clutch and volumised, back-combed beach-waves complete with this season’s laid-back dark, carefree roots.

Whilst Victoria Beckham had a successful evening, earning the night’s most sought-after ‘Woman of the Decade’ award, her black Maison Martin Margiela jumpsuit, though bang-on-trend, unfortunately swamped her petite frame. Unsurprisingly though, Victoria remained the star of the night, making headlines with her enviable date for the evening her adorable son Brooklyn, whom she touchingly dubbed: “The best looking man in the room tonight,” when collecting her prestigious and well-earned award.

Similarly, Jessie J, whose ruffled deep cobalt blue Gucci ensemble had the potential to storm all the headlines as she won ‘Editor’s Special Award,’ simply unfortunately looked shapeless and unfitted to her body, drowning her small frame. Jessie’s accessories more than made up for her fashion mishap however, with her beauty radiating against her newly bleached and shaved do.

As The Saturdays scooped ‘Best Band’ brunette bombshell Frankie Sandford triumphed the difficult to pull-off pregnant red-carpet look as she effortlessly out-shone fellow band member Mollie King whose shiny, red satin-style floor-length Louis Heal gown complete with sheer cut-out panels proved slightly too fussy and appeared over-dressed for the night.
