Better in partnership with WISPA NI (Women in Sport and Physical Activity) is encouraging females to get active in 2017. Facilitated by WISPA NI, through funding provided by Sport NI and the Department for Communities, the Active Women Programme will see a selection of female-only, studio based and aqua based fitness classes arrive at various Better centres across Belfast. The classes cost just £1 each and 6 week sessions will run until 31 March 2017.
The affordable, no-strings classes are suitable for females of all fitness levels. The studio based classes will include pilates, circuits and yogalates whilst the aqua based classes will include a mix of water workouts. The classes are an ideal outlet for those new to exercise and those looking to switch up their fitness routine by sampling something new.
Ronan McKenna, Regional Community Sports Manager at Better said; ‘We are really excited to partner with WISPA to introduce this action-packed schedule of £1 classes. Exercise and fitness should be accessible to everyone and this affordable option allows women to try something new. It’s also an ideal way to supplement a regular training routine, not to mention meet like-minded people. We look forward to welcoming women of all fitness levels to our Grove Wellbeing Centre.’
Audrey Barr, WISPA NI said; ‘At WISPA NI we aim to encourage and support women of all ages to become more physically active in their everyday lives to improve their overall health & wellbeing.
Access to fitness is key to achieving these goals. Therefore, the arrival of £1 pilates and water workout classes to Better’s Grove Wellbeing Centre is very exciting. We hope that the women of Belfast city and surrounding areas will take advantage of this opportunity to try something new and maybe even develop a new passion for fitness.’
