A special evening with pop legend Billy Ocean has raised over £100,000 for local children’s cancer charity, Cancer Fund for Children.
Over 300 guests attended the charity gala ball at the Culloden Hotel back in November 2016, which was organised by local businessmen Leslie Hughes OBE and Alan Bailie, owner of MIS Claims.
Guests were treated to an evening of fine dining and musical entertainment, whilst also raising much needed funds to support local children with cancer.
Donations from ticket sales and an amazing live auction resulted in the charity receiving a generous donation of £105,000 towards services for local families affected by cancer.
Cancer Fund for Children Chief Executive, Gillian Creevy said:
“We are absolutely thrilled and so grateful to receive this amazing donation from what was a very memorable evening.
“Leslie and Alan have been longstanding supporters of the charity, and this donation proves their continuing commitment to supporting local families whose lives have been devastated by cancer.
“These funds will help us to provide vital services to the 350 local families we support on average every year. They will enable our team of dedicated Specialists to help even more families cope with the impact cancer has on their lives.”
Alan Bailie, MIS Claims added:
“Leslie Hughes and myself are absolutely delighted to hand over this donation to Cancer Fund for Children. A huge thank you to everyone that supported the event, and helped to raise this amazing amount to support local families living with cancer.”
