Last Wednesday saw the glamorous annual ‘Heels on the Hill’ fashion show return to Dungannon for a second year, as models from across Northern Ireland – led by mid-Ulster girl Jayne Higgins – showcased the very best that busy shopping town Dungannon has to offer in terms of fashion and style. The catwalk was jam-packed with over 25 retailers from across the town, including the high street’s most loved brands, independent boutiques and the ever fabulous Linen Green.  What’s more, several male retailers were doing it for the boys showcasing all the latest male fashion which went down a storm with the crowd.  Local lady and former Miss Northern Ireland Joanne Salley compered the evening, which hosted over 450 audience members, all of whom seemed to have a shared passion for fashion.

Guests were greeted with the fabulously fashionable Fiat 500’s from Donnelly Motors as well as a drinks reception from Little Big Shot.  The bustling atmosphere set the tone for the evening and everyone was geared up to see the latest trends which included reds, burgundy, leather, lace, leopard print and plenty of tartan.

Lucky audience member Muriel from Loughgall received the coveted ‘Golden Ticket’ prize of the Ultimate Shopping Experience in Dungannon with a bundle of vouchers totting up to a whopping £800 worth of treats in the town.  Muriel wasn’t the only winner though with Margaret Davidson winning a Fiat 500 for the week courtesy of Donnelly Motors.  To top it off guests left the evening with goodie bags filled with treats from retailers, as well as a refreshing can of Little Big Shot.

Mayor Cllr Sean McGuigan commented on the night’s success saying: “Once again Heels on the Hill didn’t fail to disappoint.  The evening was fashionable, fun and truly showcased the best style available Dungannon.  We hope all our guests for the evening enjoyed the night and a big thank you to all the retailers and of course all the audience members who came along to support the show – as we couldn’t have done it without them. Their commitment to shop locally retains the lifeblood of a busy shopping town like Dungannon, and long may it continue.”

Dungannon Life has launched a new Facebook page and is currently developing a new website www.DungannonLife.com.  Also on 30 September, Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council in conjunction with Dungannon Regeneration Partnership (DRP) are pleased to announce the launch of a free Wi-Fi service for shoppers and visitors to Dungannon town centre.
