ISL Waste Management has been announced as the headline sponsor for the Live Here Love Here Community Awards taking place this month. The awards, which are organised by charity Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, celebrate the tremendous efforts of volunteers from across the province who make Northern Ireland a cleaner, greener and safer place to live.
The new sponsorship underpins ISL’s own commitment to reducing waste and educating clients and the wider community to reduce, reuse and recycle their waste. It also ties in with the company’s Making Waste Wonderful campaign –which aims to change companies’ concept of waste, turning it into a valuable resource.
Speaking about the sponsorship ISL Waste Management’s Managing Director Barry Donaghy said the company was privileged to support the Community Awards: “As a business, ISL delivers a zero waste to landfill promise to our clients. We are also passionate about educating everyone on the need to reduce the amount of waste we produce, make wise choices on what materials we buy as consumers and be aware of the impact we have on the environment. We can’t take the attitude that it’s someone else’s problem.
“Supporting the Live Here Love Here Community Awards is an essential message to the whole business community that if we all play our part in creating a clean environment we will make Northern Ireland a place where people want to live and work.”
Jodie-Ann McAneaney, Live Here Love Here Manager, said: “We’re delighted to welcome ISL Waste Management on board as our title sponsor. Their commitment to not only reducing waste but wisely reusing it, resonated immediately with the Live Here Love Here ethos.
“Every year thousands of volunteers give up their time and energy to make Northern Ireland a better place to live for everyone and collecting 163 tonnes of litter between them. This partnership affords us the opportunity to grow the awards and to celebrate and thank our community heroes.”
The Awards will take place on the 20th February 2018 at Belfast Harbour Commissioner’s Office – hosted by Lesser Spotted Journeys presenter, Joe Mahon. For more information visit www.liveherelovehere.org
