This month marks the start of Carson McDowell’s year-long partnership with local children’s cancer charity, Cancer Fund for Children.
Support from Carson McDowell through various fundraising events will help Cancer Fund for Children provide practical and emotional support, as well as free therapeutic short breaks to children with cancer, children living with a parent diagnosed with cancer, and their families.
Partner and Head of Carson McDowell’s charity committee, Jacqueline McAleese said:“We are thrilled to be supporting Cancer Fund for Children this year and hope that funds raised and support provided by Carson McDowell staff will make a real difference to the lives of local children. We have some great charitable events planned for 2019/2020 so watch this space.”
Sarah Clements, Cancer Fund for Children’s Corporate Fundraiser added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Carson McDowell and we look forward to an exciting year ahead. As a local charity, we receive less than 0.5% of our funding from the government so we quite simply cannot provide essential services without the support of the local community and businesses like Carson McDowell. Their support will help us continue to connect, empower and strengthen local young people and families who are struggling to cope with the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis.”
Cancer Fund for Children understand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and treatment can have on a family and that beyond essential medical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt. Their team of Cancer Support Specialists are there to listen and help deliver individual and group support to young people, at home, on the hospital ward, in the community and at their residential centre in Newcastle Co. Down.
