The anxious wait is finally over…today the shortlist for the 2017 Belfast Business Awards is revealed.

Organised and hosted by Belfast Chamber of Trade & Commerce with Principal Sponsor, Bank of Ireland UK, the annual, highly-coveted ceremony has become synonymous with recognising, promoting and rewarding the excellence of Belfast-based companies.

Over 60 of Belfast’s top businesses have made the shortlist spanning 18 categories, from creative, community, digital marketing, age-friendly to food and drink. The gala ceremony will take place on Friday 26th May 2017 at Titanic, Belfast.

Gordon McElroy, President of Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the level of entries this year cementing Belfast businesses as the benchmark for excellence in today’s competitive business environment.

“Over the next couple of weeks, a series of interviews will take place with a panel of judges to decide the overall winners in each category.

“There will also be extensive mystery shopping for the customer service and hospitality based categories, so I encourage everyone to go the extra mile and showcase their business and staff to their absolute best ability.

“The awards night is a real highlight in the Chamber calendar. It’s a night to celebrate, to network and to give yourself and team a well-deserved pat on the back.

“This year’s glittering, gala event will be held in the fantastic Titanic Belfast, the Worlds Number 1 tourist destination and will be hosted by Sarah Travers and Pete Snodden. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by contacting Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce.”

Gordon concluded: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the entrants for the time and effort that has gone into the entries and to congratulate those shortlisted.”
