To celebrate the launch of the fully electric Audi e-tron, Belfast and Portadown Audi have partnered with Ballywalter Park and OX restaurant to showcase the technology, performance and design of this new SUV and the synergies with these iconic local landmarks.

Ballywalter Park has been the family home of the Mulholland Family for over 170 years.  The present Family owners, Lord & Lady Dunleath, have been carrying out an extensive restoration programme over the past twenty years and the house and estate are now recognised as one of the finest Great Country Houses of Ireland.  Ballywalter Park is a private home, not generally open to the public, but is open for group cultural tours on a by appointment basis. In addition, Ballywalter Park welcomes small residential conferences, incentive events and corporate lunches and dinners. It is also a very popular location for film and television productions.

Lady Dunleath, known as Vibeke, is a passionate food historian, and it’s through this interest and knowledge that a partnership has blossomed with OX head chef and owner Stephen Toman.  In the walled gardens of Ballywalter the talented gardening team have for several years been growing exceptional local seasonal produce that is handpicked by the chefs and used daily at the restaurant.

Since the opening of OX in 2013 to rave reviews, it was soon awarded a Michelin Star in 2016 which has been maintained each year since.  Stephen brings something completely different to the Belfast fine dining scene, utilising many years of experience in some of the best establishments in Paris and America.  His approach specialises in transforming simple wholesome ingredients from the historic gardens at Ballywalter into something spectacular with imagination, creativity and originality.

The new Audi e-tron has a similar design philosophy at heart.  The first all-electric Audi is a stylish SUV with plenty of room for 5 passengers.  With a range of up to 237 miles depending on driving conditions, style and load you’ll be able to travel in confidence.  There are numerous recharging optioning including a standard at home domestic socket, a more powerful fitted wallbox which currently comes with a £500 government installation grant or the extensive public charging network which is expanding each day.  From zero the e-tron can be replenished at 150kW terminals to 80% battery charge within 30 minutes.

The new e-tron is smart on the inside as well, with optional virtual wing mirrors that stream a view of what’s behind you.  With a wealth of information at your fingertips the Audi connect systems provide an e-tron route planner that calculates routes showing charging stations and estimated charge times if necessary, to ensure its suitable for longer trips as well as the daily commute.

Future launches under the Audi e-tron brand will be forth coming as electric has gone Audi.
