Joining the internationally acclaimed singer and actress will be award winning TV and Radio host Robin Elliott and Downtown’s stalwart Kevin McAllister and actor Daniel May as Aladdin. Presented by Apollo Arts, the producer Pauline Elliott, will be holding open auditions for a budding actress to play the principal role princess Jasmine. Gail Jones, marketing officer for The Crescent says;
“The Crescent is renowned for hosting a wide range of arts and entertainment events, as well as a Creative Learning programme across a variety of art forms. We are continually looking at innovative opportunities to expand our offering and we are very excited about hosting our very first pantomime. Aladdin is one of my personal favourite pantos, so on a personal level, it will certainly be a nostalgia trip. We are confident that Apollo Arts, whom we have worked with on numerous occasions, will pull out all stops to put on an awe-inspiring production that will get the whole family in the Christmas mood.” Gail continues;
“The Crescent prides itself on nurturing local talent and we are giving one up and coming actress a chance to shine on the big stage, when we hold our open auditions for the part of Princess Jasmine. The winner’s prize will include a modeling shoot with Local Women Magazine. Auditions will take place on Saturday 2 November from 10am – 1pm at The Crescent and entrants must be age 18 or over, able to sing and dance and at their audition they must prepare and sing a verse and a chorus of ‘A Whole New World’ and another song of their choice. ”
